Matthew Heckler, JD

Matt joined Telemus in August 2020 with over fifteen years of experience providing comprehensive wealth management solutions to corporate executives and other wealthy families. His arrival marked the launch of our Corporate Executive Services division, which he will lead.

Prior to joining Telemus, Matt was a Principal at Cerity Partners, managing a wealth advisory team to deliver pro-active holistic advice followed by white glove implementation. His clients rely on him to coordinate all aspects of their financial lives including: tax planning, estate planning, risk management and insurance, investments, liquidity planning, employee benefits, healthcare, and retirement planning.

Earlier in his career, Matt worked at the Goldman Sachs Family Office in New York City, eventually transferring to the Chicago office of their subsidiary, The Ayco Company, as an Account Manager.

Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University, before passing the Bar exams in New York and New Jersey. In addition, he holds a Series 66 and Life, Health & Disability Insurance licenses. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of Smile Train, an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate. In his spare time he enjoys biking with his daughter in tandem and feeding friends and family with his wood pellet smoker.
