Sr. Investment Analyst

Role Summary:  

This individual will serve as a critical member of the company’s Investment Team whose goal is to provide investment solutions that positively impact clients’ lives by helping them plan for and achieve their financial goals and objectives. This role wears many different hats from assisting the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in building our portfolios, to participating in the Investment Committee and conducting research for various portfolio sleeves. This role will report to the CIO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research group(s) that manages portfolio sleeves and/or sub-sleeves. This includes:
    • Quantitative and qualitative evaluation of investment managers;
    • Ongoing investment monitoring and analysis;
    • Weekly meetings to review sleeve holdings, fund reports, and potential new managers; and
    • Presentation of tested and discussed investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Run reports, analyze and summarize findings for investment performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Assist in developing cohesive economic and market views that provide insight for asset allocation and manager selection
  • Assist CIO in producing publications for internal and external investment communications
  • Assist Financial Life Advisors with investment-related matters
  • Develop and leverage strong partnerships with other functional areas and third parties including Financial Life Advisory teams, Marketing, and Investment Product Wholesalers
  • Assist CIO in special projects and research analysis, as needed
  • Monitor and track financial markets and report any potential impact to portfolio performance and risk
  • Participate in company initiatives

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • At least 5 years experience as an analyst in an investment-related field and working knowledge of investment software and databases (Bloomberg, Factset, Eikon, etc.)
  • Proven success with formulating asset allocations and conducting manager due diligence
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business, finance or economic-related major
  • Completion of the CFA® or CIMA certification
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated experience to clearly and concisely communicate ideas and recommendations
  • Ability to distill research findings into cogent summaries and conclusions
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Passion for and career interest in the capital markets
  • A high level of self-motivation and energy
  • Highest standards of ethical conduct expected
  • Comfortable with ambiguity given entrepreneurial environment and organizational changes
